Ghent Beer and Sightseeing Adventure

Explore Ghent during this 4 hour beer and sightseeing experience.
The tour will start at Saint Bavo square with its beautiful cathedral Saint Bavo; with inside the famous painting the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb. The guide will start with an historical overview with also the Belfree, City Theater and City Hall.

The we will savor one of the best chocolates of Ghent at the Van Hoorebeke chocolate factory.

After the 3 chocolate tastings we will head to the oldest brewery of Ghent : Stadsbrewery. with a guided tour about how the beers are brewed.  Ghent is the only city in Belgium where the brewers use GRUUT instead of hops. The beers are therefore very unique in terms of flavours, very fruity and less bitter. The 2 beer tastings will convince you from the quality and rich flavours of the local brews.

Time for a walking tour through the old town to see the old port of Ghent with its guid houses. Boats could deliver the goods in the center, since the canals were connected to the river Lys, the waterway to the Northsea. Also on the walking tour the famous Castle of the Counts of Flanders, the Patershol with its small bars and cafés.

After the walk we will enjoy a Geneva Gin tasting at Pollekes little bar. Ghent is famous for its Geneva Gin that comes in many flavours.

We will finish the visit at the Waterhuis aan de Bierkant : an old tavern where we will enjoy 2 more beers with local snacks. The tavern looks out at the beautiful canals of Ghent.
